Camp Tuckabatchee wakes up the whole child - we seek to develop the whole child: Body, mind, emotions, imagination, intuition, will and the self.

- RESIDENT CAMP -

Coed for campers 7-13 years old
June 15- July 26

Rustic cabins, sleep 10-12 campers and two staff. Separate bath houses with flush toilets.
Campers arrive on Sunday and leave on Saturday.
Weekend accommodations available for campers choosing more than one week long session.
Campers' morning will be filled with activities provided in their program choice:

  1. WATER ADVENTURE - In ground heated pool, canoeing, tubing and water games.
  2. INDIAN WAY - Native American hand crafts.
  3. HORSEMANSHIP - Western ring and trail rides.
  4. OUTDOOR ADVENTURE - Hiking, canoeing, tree and bird identification.
  5. BACKWOODS BIKING - Own bike required - biking our trails, bike maintenance and safety.

Afternoon choices will be made on Sunday night after campers arrive at camp. Each child will choose three afternoon activities: Nature Craft, Horseback Riding, Archery, Swimming, Indian Lore, Sports and Games, Outdoor Fun, Mystery Hour. 3 meals per day, plus afternoon snack and evening snack.


- DAY CAMP -

Coed for campers 6-10 years old
Monday - Friday, June 16- July 25

The Day Camp program is separate from the other programs.
Children are entertained from 9-4 Monday through Friday.
Lunch and afternoon snack provided.
An affordable alternative to Day Care.
Day Campers will get the opportunity to play games, creek walk, hike, make crafts, swim daily, and ride horses once during the week. This is a good taste of Camp for the younger camper.
Day Campers can choose to come 1-5 days per week.


 

- TEEN TRAVEL -

Coed for campers 13-15 years old
June 15 - July 26

Campers arrive on Sunday and leave on Saturday
Tent living, overnight canoe trip on the Fox River.
Hiking local State parks.
Archery, swimming, horseback riding.
Day trips to various locations in LaSalle County.


- COUNSELOR IN TRAINING PROGRAM -

Be a C.I.T. in 2008 - Work with children in a camp environment, make friends and receive valuable hands-on experience. Many C.I.T.'s move on to be excellent Camp Staff. Applications available from the Camp office.

This program is for campers 15 years old or completed 9th grade. Past campers, new campers, learn to be a leader, organizer, and entertainer!!!

You must complete an application and have an interview. You will live in a cabin with campers and a lead staff member. You will be a helper part of each day and then in a workshop for part of the day. As a CIT you will have responsibilities as well as fun while you are at camp.

This program is a 2 year program, upon completion you will be able to apply for a Jr. counselor, paid position.
