Teen Travel Camp

Our Teen Travel program provides a little more adventurous activities including an overnight canoe trip and a trip to hike at a state park. Teen Travel campers will need to bring their own tent to sleep in.

Teen Travel Camp at Camp Tuckabatchee

Teen Travel Camp at Camp Tuckabatchee is built for older campers who are ready for adventure, responsibility, and a little more freedom than traditional cabin life. Designed for teens who have “grown up at camp” or are simply craving something bigger than the usual summer routine, Teen Travel Camp blends the best of Camp Tuckabatchee’s rustic charm with off-site trips and experiences beyond the main camp property. Teens still enjoy the woods, trails, and campfires of Tuck, but they also head out on carefully planned day trips—like hikes at nearby parks, river adventures, or local attractions—that challenge them, broaden their horizons, and deepen their love of the outdoors.

Teen Travel Camp Adventures, Leadership, and Independence

During Teen Travel Camp at Camp Tuckabatchee, campers don’t just ride along—they help lead. Teens assist with planning parts of the week’s schedule, prepare for outings, and work together to handle gear, supplies, and group responsibilities. A typical day might include breakfast at camp, then loading up for a hike, paddle, or local excursion, followed by a return to camp for swimming, downtime, and an evening campfire. Along the way, they practice real-world skills: reading maps, following itineraries, working as a team, communicating clearly, and staying flexible when plans change.

Who Teen Travel Camp at Camp Tuckabatchee Is Perfect For

Teen Travel Camp at Camp Tuckabatchee is ideal for campers who are aging out of traditional programs but aren’t ready to give up camp—and for teens who want more challenge than a standard week of activities. It’s a great fit for responsible, adventurous youth who enjoy helping younger campers, working with staff, and stepping into leadership roles. With a focus on adventure, teamwork, and independence (all under the guidance of experienced staff), Teen Travel Camp gives teens a powerful, growth-filled week that feels less like “being a camper” and more like becoming the leader they’re meant to be.
